REFLECTION

When the first day, enter this class I thought the learning process will use a computer as a tools but the earlier class is more to the introduction of this subject. Based on the lecture, this subject is aimed to teach a future teacher like me to know how to use technology as one of a effective technique for teaching. In the future, education will be more challenges because the technology is more advanced. In order to prepare a teachers that can use all the devices or software for teaching, this subject is a one of the method to prepare teachers.

Firstly, I learnt about the issues and challenges in integrating ICT in teaching and learning in our Malaysian schools. Secondly, I learnt how data logger can help students. Data logger is an advance device that use to run an experiment. The results is more accurate and the time for student to do an experiment is faster. Student can discuss more based on the experiment and make a student thinking more deep. Next, I learnt graphic editing. Editing picture and video is very useful for teachers as it can attract student’s attention during the class as they easily get bored when we used traditional way. So, it is one of effective way to gain student’s attention during the learning process. Finally, I learnt how to use simulation. To run a simulation I use STELLA software that provide many simulation for educational purposes that include Biology subjects experiment. By using simulation, student just need to change the parameters and wait for a results. This will make students feel motivated to the study and provide deep learning among the students.

From this subject, I have learnt many new things that useful for my future teaching and learning process especially using an ICT. I also feel motivated to become a good teacher for my students and become braver to face a challenges and issues that have in Malaysia to integrate an ICT. Now, I know how to edit the picture and make the video on my own. This subject very helpful for the future teachers like me.
